Course Description

This 50- hour synchronous online Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) is intended to increase the efficiency of knowledge on maintaining the integrity and protecting the privacy and security of patient information when using an electronic healthcare software program.

It includes the core competencies that explains the execution of file maintenance procedures and follow regulatory compliance guidelines, including HIPAA’s Privacy and Security rules. It covers the usage and management of health information and the electronic health records that encompass the continuum of care.

It explains the basic components of a complete medical record, entering demographic, insurance information, charting, progress notes, vital signs, medical histories, diagnoses, medications, immunization dates, allergies, radiology images, lab, and test results. This includes the demonstration of the use of the EHR software by using the Practice Fusion software.
